Kirshenbaum & Kirshenbaum has been in practice since 1933. Over the years we have helped thousands of clients through a myriad of legal problems. The firm that started as two lawyers now comprises eight attorneys and concentrates in many different areas of the law.

             CIVIL LITIGATION

             This department is headed by Christopher L. Russo, a partner in the firm. We handle all forms of personal injury claims – car collisions, premises liability, tractor trailer collision, wrongful death, slip and fall, dog bites, assault & battery. When you are injured your life is thrown into turmoil – you have many doctor visits, you may not be able to work and less money is coming into your home but now you have medical bills in addition to your ordinary bills. The last thing you are able to deal with is the insurance company.  We have the resources and ability to fight for our clients against the insurance carriers who refuse to pay what our clients are entitled. We handle all aspects of your claims and get you the money you deserve.

             We all go to doctors and hospitals expecting they are going to make everything better. Unfortunately that does not always happen. Our clients come to us to help them find answers as to what went wrong. We utilize our resources of doctors and nurses. We have successfully represented our clients in pursuing medical negligence (medical malpractice) claims against the doctors and the hospitals to obtain the compensation our clients deserve.

            There are other clients who are injured while at work. Here we help clients obtain the compensation explain the various complexities of the Workers Compensation laws. Here, we also help clients who have been injured while at work.  For these clients, we obtain weekly benefits, compensation for scarring and loss of use, make certain that medical expenses are paid, and in the appropriate matters, negotiates a settlement for the injured worker.

             BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS/COMMERCIAL LITIGATION/INSOLVENCY

            This department is headed by Jason D. Monzack, a partner in the firm. Our firm has helped our clients form new business entities, acquire or sell an existing business. We also counsel our clients in efforts to resolve business disputes. In the event that such disputes cannot be resolved through negotiations, we represent our clients in litigation.

             We have also counseled clients regarding the federal bankruptcy laws and the state receivership laws. We have experience in protecting the rights of creditors in bankruptcy and receivership proceedings. We have also counseled debtors seeking the protection of the bankruptcy or receivership laws.

            FAMILY COURT

            We have always had and will continue to have the reputation of aggressively representing our clients’ rights in the family court. This is the practice area of the founding partner Isidore Kirshenbaum and which now headed by Paul J. Russo, managing partner within the firm.

             Family Court handles a variety of matters – divorce & separation, child custody, restraining orders, visitation, alimony, and grand-parent rights to name a few. In all of these matters the issues are highly emotionally charged and require the care and skill of an experienced trial attorney who can provide legal guidance and support and see the matters to their conclusion.

            WILLS & ESTATES

            The firm has extensive experience in estate planning and elder law, including the drafting of living trusts, wills, power of attorney, and living wills. In addition, the firm handles the probate matters including guardianships and decedent’s estates, contested and uncontested wills.

             REAL ESTATE

            The firm provides a full range of real estate services, including residential and commercial closings, title examination and insurance drafting and review of purchase and sales agreements as well as landlor/tenant representation.
