When car accidents occur, they often turn lives upside down. Whether someone is involved in a head-on collision caused by texting and driving or injured in a drunk driving accident, auto accidents can result in serious injuries, medical expenses, emotional pain and death. Unfortunately, these accidents continue to occur in Providence, Rhode Island, and around the country at an alarming rate. As a result, those who are trying to move forward after a car collision should take action immediately.

Authorities say that a 22-year-old woman was driving drunk when she caused a multiple vehicle accident on Route 95 in Providence. There were not any significant injuries reported in the crash, which took place at 2:30 a.m. in a construction zone close to Exit 22.

According to a law enforcement official, the woman struck an attenuator truck before swerving to the left and hitting a tractor-trailer truck. Next, the tractor-trailer truck swerved to the right and struck a state police cruiser, which then hit a DOT supervisor who was outside of his vehicle. Both the police officer and DOT supervisor were sent to the hospital over minor injuries.

When Distracted Driving Leads to Auto Accidents

While some people struggle to recover from car accidents, it is important for victims of these crashes to stand up for their rights and address the situation as soon as possible. For some, this may include taking legal action to receive the compensation they deserve and need. Some people who are in this position discuss the details of the accident they were involved in with an attorney, who may be able to provide them with a better understanding of their options.
