Attorney’s Hard Work Leads to Dog Bite Settlement for Client
In May 2017, our client was walking her dog on a leash in her neighborhood like she often did. When she turned a corner onto a nearby street, she stopped for a moment, and a dog that lived at the house across the street from where our client stood ran toward them from the back of his house and attacked her dog.
Our client did her best to break up the fight. While attempting to do this, she put her hand between the two fighting dogs and was bitten in multiple spots on her fingers and thumb. A neighbor thankfully came out and assisted our client in separating the dogs and treating her bleeding dog bites.
Our Client Required Weeks of Physical Therapy to Recover From Her Injuries
After the dog bite, our client went to the emergency room for immediate medical care and then followed up with an orthopedic hand specialist for her broken thumb and the bites on three of her fingers. She was prescribed a regimen of physical therapy that lasted for seven weeks. Fortunately, she recovered from the dog bite except for her thumb that remains slightly disfigured.
